Green Cabin Kits Modern Prefab Project Update!

I am so thrilled to begin sharing with you the progress of the passive solar modern prefab from our Green Cabin Kits modern prefab line being built in the northeast! This client is incredibly creative with impeccable modern taste, is passionate about the environment, and thoughtful in every aspect of her home so I am very excited to share with you her modern prefab house as it is constructed, as she sends updates.

Note: This client is a *very* busy woman who is involved with environmental advocacy. Because of her schedule, she tells me her missives will be sporadic, but I hope not- I can't wait to see what she does!

Fall 2011 News From Green Cabin Kits!

Happy fall from Green Cabin Kits!
We are finally putting our finishing touches on the re-engineered CornerHouse and I will update that page as soon as the new design is finished and quoted by our manufacturer.  So if that two story prefab modern home interests you, know I will send out an update to you very, very soon!

We also want to let our enthusiasts know about two upcoming projects:

• A Dogtrot Mod to be built outside of Philadelphia this spring!
• A Wyoming family has already decided on us, yet can't decide between a Dogtrot Mod or a casa ti from our Green Modern Kits line. They might not have decided on which prefab modern house to get, but they've already started blogging their journey, and you can follow them here. 

On a personal note, Damon Pearson, the architect of Green Cabin Kits, will be paying us a visit in my own off grid prefab this weekend. Think it's a photo op? My camera is charging. I *just* might write about it in my own off grid prefab home construction blog...

Re-engineered Prefab Cabin House Kit Dogtrot Mod Featured In Jetson Green!

We were very excited to discover our prefab passive solar house kit cabin, The Dogtrot Mod, was featured in Jetson Green, an industry site we greatly admire!

We engineered The Dogtrot Mod on Green Cabin Kits to be like the rest of our prefab passive solar house kit lines (Green Modern Kits and Green Cottage Kits), which means they would be not built just in the Virginia factory (as previously offered) but in the national network of factories with whom we’ve partnered – so that your closest factory would fabricate the kit, therefore reducing shipping costs for you.


We currently have The Dogtrot Mod prefab house kit priced as follows:

$33,795.08 for design documents, license, and Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for roof and walls

Total square footage is:
main area:  1092 gsf
guest area:  413 gsf

total: 1505 gsf
outdoor spaces (deck and covered porch): 537 gsf
